Important Tips To Help With Cleaning Carpet Stains

Cleaning the carpet in your home is easy with the right products and methods. Here are some easy ways you can remove stains and odours from your carpets.

Cleaning carpet stains can sometimes be a very difficult task. Part of the reason is because when a stain first occurs, your first reaction is to pour every chemical on it that you have in your house to try to get it out. However, this can actually be counterproductive. You want to be careful what you apply to your carpet as different types of carpets have different carpet cleaning needs. The first step is to vacuum your carpet often, so dirt does not grind into the carpet causing cleaning to be an endless chore.

Vacuum the Flooring

Car owners should use a vacuum to get dirt and debris that is too small to remove by hand. A powerful vacuum is usually available at the local car wash. However, portable handheld vacuums are a great way to vacuum the carpet whenever needed without having to look for change. These mini vacuums can be recharged and run off of battery power, or a long extension cord.

Wash and Protect Rubber Floor Mats

Car owners will also want to clean the floor mats that protect their car interiors. These mats can be carpeted or rubberized. The carpet mats should be cleaned in the same manner as the rest of the car carpeting. Rubberized mats need to be rinsed off with soap and water. Allow the mats to dry, and put on a coat of liquid shoe wax to help them repel dirt and make it easier to clean them later on.

White Vinegar

This is a very good liquid to get rid of coffee stains. Coffee is one of the most difficult stains to clean from carpets or for that matter anything. You have to first warm the area of the stain with a cloth dipped in boiling hot water. Make sure you squeeze out as much water from the cloth as you can because the stain needs the heat not the water. After this, soak vinegar in a fresh cloth and apply to the area. Absorb the stain with another dry cloth and let the carpet dry.

Cold Water

The procedure reverses when it comes to blood stains. You might be wondering or aghast at the fact that there will be blood stains on your carpet. That means you don”t have pets or children. The home remedy for blood stains on carper is cold water. Blood gets fixed on the carpet with heat so you have to use a cloth dipped in ice cold water for cleaning this carpet stain.
